Once the frames are completed and delivered to site, most frame fabricators will endeavour to stack frames in the approximate order they need to be installed (however stacking to suit transport can affect this).
Light Gauge Steel (LGS) frames should be stored in an area that will protect them from damage caused by site activities or environmental factors as both could potentially impact warranties and/or service life. LGS can remain uncovered for short periods in most instances, but frames need to be stored flat and packed straight on uneven ground. Other loads should not be placed on top of the LGS.
Minor scratches are unlikely to affect product performance, however, if the coating is accidentally damaged and needs repair, the affected area can be treated by the application of a zinc-rich paint designed for this purpose.
All frames will be branded by the frame fabricators to identify their purpose and location.
Always wear appropriate gloves (minimum cut resistance level 3) when handling LGS to minimise the risk of nicks and cuts.
