TRUECORE® framing

Check the manufacturer’s lead time to efficiently coordinate the timing of LGS Frames delivery.

Prior to frames going to site, check:

  • slab is of the correct size and level as per plan. Where possible, correct slab issues prior to frame delivery (Refer to Topic Level Slab)
  • suitable space for storage of frames (Refer to Topic Storing frames on site) and whether a staged approach is required.
  • erection trades are familiar with LGS framing installation and properly equipped to carry out works
  • all documentation has been provided and is clear
  • what fixings for frame installation will be included and ensure other ancillaries are organised. This includes, but is not limited to, screws, brackets, hold down washers and bolts, shim packers, DPCs etc

For follow-on trades, ensure:

  • awareness of steel framing requirements (TB-34 in the resources section below is a good reference)
  • all necessary documentation has been provided and is clear
  • plumbing and electrical grommets suit pre-punched frame hole sizes
  • fixings are appropriate and to engineers' specification and specified ancillary items are available (eg adjustable noggins for plumbing and electrical services)
  • specified battens and fixings suitable for the ceiling and roofing design are supplied and used.
  • Follow-on trades have the right tools and equipment to carry out work (eg if additional holes are required)
